ThermiSmooth Body

ThermiSmooth Body is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that can reduce age-related changes in your skin. This non-invasive treatment uses radiofrequency energy to tighten and smooth skin, creating a more youthful appearance.

How Does ThermiSmooth Body Work?

The ThermiSmooth Body procedure uses an innovative device that delivers radiofrequency energy deep into the skin’s tissues. This energy heats the skin and leads to changes at the cellular level, increasing collagen production.

Collagen Production

Collagen is one of the primary building blocks of the skin, giving it strength and structure. Some like to compare it to a mattress covering that holds everything together. With a boost in collagen production, ThermiSmooth Body can tighten drooping skin and create a firmer appearance.

The ThermiSmooth Body procedure is most often used on the abdomen, back, buttocks, legs, and arms.

The Benefits of ThermiSmooth Body

Our body experiences several natural changes over time. For example, the skin may begin to droop and sag. While some of these changes are due to aging, they can also occur for women at almost any life stage.

Many turn to diet and exercise to resolve these cosmetic issues but see little difference because diet and exercise cannot treat the skin that has been stretched after pregnancy. This is where a revolutionary treatment like ThermiSmooth Body comes in.

ThermiSmooth Body in Beverly Hills offers many cosmetic benefits. This procedure is completely non-invasive and uses radiofrequency energy to change your skin at the cellular level, stimulating collagen and elastin production. This boost in collagen and elastin does the following:

  • Firms sagging or drooping skin
  • Tightens loose skin around the midsection
  • Enhances underlying muscle tone
  • Creates an overall younger, more toned appearance

Many patients choose ThermiSmooth procedures because there is no recovery or downtime involved. You can see a significant change in your skin quality without having an invasive surgical procedure or worrying about taking time off from work to heal. Since ThermiSmooth Body is a non-invasive procedure, patients also avoid the risks that come with invasive surgical procedures.

Before Your ThermiSmooth Body Treatment

Even though ThermiSmooth Body is a fast and simple treatment, it is still important to prepare properly for the procedure. In order to achieve the best results possible, you’ll want to have a good understanding of everything that the process involves. Learn more about the entire ThermiSmooth Body procedure from screening to results here:

Your ThermiSmooth Body Screening

ThermiSmooth Body is not the ideal cosmetic procedure for everyone. For example, Thermi procedures are not effective for patients with a significant amount of excess weight. These individuals may benefit from a plastic surgical procedure like liposuction instead.

When scheduling your ThermiSmooth Body treatment, my staff will ask you about any underlying health conditions or implanted medical devices you may have. This part of the conversation is important, as the radiofrequency energy used in Thermi treatments could interact with implants like pacemakers, metal IUDs, neurostimulators, defibrillators, and Cochlear implants. If you have any of these implanted devices, we will discuss other cosmetic options to help you achieve your desired results.

Preparing for Your ThermiSmooth Body Procedure

Before your first ThermiSmooth Body treatment, you will be provided with pre and post-treatment instructions to order to achieve the best results possible. I will have you sign all of the necessary paperwork, including consent forms. Before your first treatment, you will want to consider the following factors:

Hydrate the Day Before Treatment

To make ThermiSmooth’s radiofrequency technology more effective, you should drink an extra four to six glasses of water in the 24 hours before their session. Being adequately hydrated for your treatment will help to achieve the best results possible.

Do Not Wear Jewelry or Skincare Products During Your Session

The metal in jewelry can interact with the radiofrequency energy used in Thermi procedures. For this reason, I will ask you to please remove all jewelry before your ThermiSmooth session begins.

Skincare products like moisturizers, creams, and perfumes can make it harder for the Thermi device to operate when placed against the skin. I ask that you not apply any products on the day of your treatment. Instead, wash your skin that morning with a mild body wash. Do not apply any additional products.

Consider Medical Implants

The Thermi device’s radiofrequency energy may interact with medically implanted devices, including defibrillators, pacemakers, neurostimulators, metal IUDs, ACID, Cochlear implants, and other mechanical devices. Before treatment begins, please notify my staff and me of any implanted devices you have.

What Happens During ThermiSmooth Body Treatment?

ThermiSmooth Body is a simple procedure, and most patients find sessions comfortable or relaxing. During your Thermi session, you’ll be able to recline and close your eyes while I use a handheld Thermi device to deliver radiofrequency to the treatment areas. This can include a combination of the stomach, arms, legs, back, and buttocks for most patients.

The ThermiSmooth device is temperature-controlled, elaborately heating deep tissue and stimulating cellular changes that will alter the structure and appearance of your skin. You will feel slight pressure and warmth while the device is in use. There is no pain or discomfort. In fact, many patients report that Thermi feels like a hot stone massage.

The entire process will take about one to two hours, depending on the number of areas we’re treating. Once your session is complete, you will be able to return home immediately afterward and resume your everyday activities.

Your ThermiSmooth Body Results and Recovery

One of the best things about ThermiSmooth Body is that there is no recovery or downtime involved. Patients are able to return to normal activity the same day as their procedure. With that being said, I do advise patients to avoid tanning beds for about 24 hours after treatment.

Results

Results will vary from patient to patient, but you will see immediate results after just one treatment. After your first session, you will notice that your skin feels tighter and firmer.

For this initial round of treatment, I recommend a total of three sessions, spaced four to ten weeks apart. This gives the cells deep in your skin and tissue time to respond to the Thermi treatment, leading to firming and tightening effects. We also offer ThermiSmooth Face treatments to help reduce age-related changes to your face.

FAQ

Am I a Good Candidate for ThermiSmooth Body in Beverly Hills?

The ideal candidate for ThermiSmooth Body is someone who has a small amount of excess or loose skin around various body areas, including the abdomen, buttocks, legs, and arms. ThermiSmooth Body is not a weight loss procedure and therefore is not ideal for those with a significant amount of excess weight. These patients may benefit from other cosmetic procedures, including liposuction.

Does ThermiSmooth Body Hurt?

ThermiSmooth Body treatment does not hurt. Many patients report that it feels relaxing and similar to a hot stone massage. After the treatment, you may feel slight warmth and muscle soreness in the treated areas, but this typically resolves within the first 24 hours.

What Are the Risks Associated with ThermiSmooth Body Treatment?

ThermiSmooth Body is a safe, non-invasive, FDA-approved cosmetic treatment. With that being said, we do not recommend ThermiSmooth for patients who have the following:

  • Electronic implants (pacemakers, ACID, defibrillators, mechanical valves)
  • Other medical implants (neurostimulators, metal IUDs, Cochlear implants)
  • Certain dermatological conditions

This patient is also not recommended for pregnant women. If any of these circumstances apply to you, please let my staff know during your ThermiSmooth screening. If you are not a candidate for this treatment, we can discuss similar cosmetic options that may better fit your lifestyle or conditions.

Will I Need Multiple ThermiSmooth Body Sessions?

To achieve optimal results, you will need to have several ThermiSmooth Body sessions in your initial round of treatment. We recommend having three to four sessions, spaced anywhere from four to ten weeks apart.

These sessions will begin the cellular changes that will tighten your loose skin. After this initial round of treatment, I recommend that patients return for a few sessions a year to maintain their results.

Is ThermiSmooth Body the Same As Liposuction?

While they may both create a slimmer, more toned appearance, ThermiSmooth Body and liposuction are very different procedures. Liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure where fat is suctioned from the body through a cannula. The patient is put under general anesthesia and typically remains in our surgical center overnight for observation before being discharged.

ThermiSmooth is a non-invasive, outpatient procedure. There is no anesthesia involved, and the patient is able to return home immediately after their treatment. While liposuction usually comes with an extensive recovery, ThermiSmooth requires no recovery or downtime afterward.

Will Insurance Cover My ThermiSmooth Treatment?

ThermiSmooth Body in Beverly Hills is considered to be a cosmetic treatment and not medically necessary. This means that health insurance providers do not cover it.

Are There Other Thermi Procedures?

One of the best things about the Thermi technology is its versatility. You can use this device to treat various areas of the body. On top of the ThermiSmooth Body procedure, we offer two other Thermi procedures: ThermiVa and ThermiSmooth Face.

ThermiVa

ThermiVa is a form of Vaginal Rejuvenation that can improve the appearance of the vagina by tightening vaginal tissue. You can also use it to address urinary incontinence and some instances of sexual dysfunction.

ThermiSmooth

ThermiSmooth Face is an innovative treatment used on the face and neck to reduce age-related changes like wrinkles, fine lines, sagging jowls, and forehead creases.
