Your ThermiSmooth Face Screening
Your ThermiSmooth Face journey will begin with a cosmetic consultation to determine whether you are a good candidate for this treatment.
I will examine your skin and assess any current age-related changes like wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, and more. We will discuss your desired results to ensure that ThermiSmooth Face is the best method for achieving those results. If I think you’d benefit from a different procedure, I will use this time to discuss other cosmetic options with you.
Please note that patients with certain health-related concerns, such as electronic implants like pacemakers, AICD, defibrillators, or implantable devices like neurostimulators and IUDs, may not be able to receive ThermiSmooth Face treatment.
Digital and Remote Consultation Options
Many of my patients come from overseas to receive treatment. Our staff has a detailed process for working with out-of-town patients to help make their treatment as smooth as possible.
Prior to your first ThermiSmooth Face session, you will be required to sign various paperwork, including consent forms. You will also receive pre and post-treatment instructions at this time.
Preparing for Your ThermiSmooth Face Treatment

Preparing for your ThermiSmooth Face treatment is very easy. There are a few important factors you must take into consideration before your session. To ensure you get the best results from your ThermiSmooth Face session, consider all of the following:
Hydrate the Day Before Treatment
For optimal results with any Thermi treatment, you will need to increase your hydration the day before your session. I recommend adding an extra four to six glasses of water intake during the 24 hours prior to your procedure. The cells in your skin will respond positively to this technology when well-hydrated.
Show Up Free and Clean of Cosmetics or Lotions for Your Session
The ThermiSmooth Face technology works best when your skin is completely clean and free of any chemicals or debris. This means you should not be wearing any makeup or skincare products during your ThermiSmooth Face session.
Do Not Wear Jewelry During the Procedure
The non-invasive ThermiSmooth Face application devices use radiofrequency energy to transmit heat to the skin cells. The metal in jewelry can interact with this energy and complicate your treatment or weaken the effects of the procedure. For this reason, please do not wear any jewelry when you come in for ThermiSmooth Face treatments.
Take Medical Implants into Account
During your consultation, please make sure to notify me and the staff of any medical implants you have. Of course, we will ask you questions and provide forms where you can explain any medical concerns.
Electronic implants like pacemakers, ACID, defibrillators, and mechanical valves can all interact with the ThermiSmooth Face device and lead to medical complications. This also applies to other implants, including neurostimulators, IUDs, and Cochlear implants.
What Happens During a ThermiSmooth Face Session?
ThermiSmooth Face treatment is very quick and easy. In fact, many patients find it soothing and compare it to a relaxing day at the spa! There is no anesthesia involved, and patients get to recline and make themselves comfortable while I perform the procedure. Since it is a non-surgical treatment, ThermiSmooth does not involve any incisions, sutures, or scarring.
Here is what you can expect during your ThermiSmooth Face session:
You’ll get to lie back in a comfortable position while I use a small handheld device to apply radiofrequency energy to your face and neck. This Thermi device is temperature-controlled, heating facial tissue and causing changes at the cellular level. These structural skin changes increase collagen production and tighten loose skin, reversing or diminishing age-related changes like wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin.
If your neck shows signs of aging, I can also use the ThermiSmooth Face device in this region. The treatment is not painful or uncomfortable at all. Most patients report feeling slight warmth and gentle pressure while I apply the device to their skin.
A ThermiSmooth Face session can last approximately 60 minutes. Once your procedure is complete, you will be able to return home immediately afterward and resume normal activity. Your skin may appear slightly pink and feel warm to the touch for several hours after treatment.
Your ThermiSmooth Face Results and Recovery
There is no recovery time or downtime after your ThermiSmooth Face treatment. You will be able to resume normal bathing, skincare, and other activities the same day as your procedure.
Results vary between patients, but many report immediate tightening and smoothing in their skin. It will take time for collagen production to increase and lead to more lasting changes.
To see optimal results, you will need to return for a total of three to four ThermiSmooth Face sessions, spaced four to eight weeks apart. After this initial course of treatment, you can return for maintenance sessions several times each year. We also offer ThermiSmooth Body treatments as well to help reduce age-related changes to the skin throughout your body.

Am I a Good Candidate for ThermiSmooth Treatment?
The ideal candidate for ThermiSmooth is experiencing age-related changes to the forehead, cheeks, mouth, neck, and eye areas. Aside from wrinkles and fine lines, your skin should be in generally good health. Ideal candidates don’t have severe dermatological conditions. ThermiSmooth Face may not be an option for patients who struggle with certain skin conditions.
ThermiSmooth is not recommended for patients who have medical implants, including pacemakers, defibrillators, mechanical valves, AICD, neurostimulators, IUDs, or Cochlear implants. It is also not recommended for women who are currently pregnant.
Does ThermiSmooth Hurt?
ThermiSmooth is an entirely painless, comfortable procedure. Most patients report that it is very relaxing and feels like a hot rock massage. After a ThermiSmooth session, your skin will appear slightly pink and feel warm to the touch, but you shouldn’t experience any discomfort or pain.
Will I Need Multiple ThermiSmooth Treatments?
To achieve optimal results, you will need multiple ThermiSmooth sessions. Your initial course of treatment will include three or four sessions, spaced four to eight weeks apart.
These sessions will create the necessary cellular changes to reverse signs of aging in your face and neck. Once this initial round of treatment is complete, I recommend patients return once every few months for a maintenance session.
Treatment maintenance will improve and prolong your results.
Is ThermiSmooth Face the Same as a Facelift?
When it comes to addressing signs of aging, there are surgical and non-surgical options. Facelifts are a surgical procedure that can create a youthful appearance. A facelift may produce more significant results than ThermiSmooth, but it is far more extensive and invasive.
Patients must go under anesthesia for facelifts and, in some cases, may need to remain in our surgical center overnight. A facelift also leaves behind scars, while ThermiSmooth does not since no incisions are involved.
What Are the Risks Associated with ThermiSmooth?
The revolutionary ThermiSmooth treatment is a safe, non-surgical cosmetic procedure. With that being said, it is not recommended for certain patients, such as:
- Those with electronic implants (pacemakers, ACID, defibrillators, mechanical valves)
- Those with other implanted devices (neurostimulators, IUDs, Cochlear implants)
- Women who are or may be pregnant
- Patients with certain skin conditions
