The picture on my left was my 4th-grade school photo during my “awkward” phase. I had just gotten glasses and my dad thought it would be a good idea if he cut my hair for the school picture. I remember crying and not wanting to go to school. My dad told me that looks come and go and what mattered more was who I was as a person and what I could accomplish in my life. At the time I really didn’t understand how an awful haircut could help me. Now, many years later I still don’t understand????
