Breast Revision. Removal of Bilateral Silicone Implants, Bilateral Complete Capsulectomy With Pocket Repair, Placement of Bilateral Strattice, and Replacement of 350 cc High Profile Smooth Round Silicone Implants.
This patient underwent a complicated secondary breast surgery to tackle critical stage IV capsular contracture and associated issues with the breast pocket. Prior to this, she had experienced a less-than-ideal silicone breast augmentation conducted by a different surgeon, which led to severe asymmetry, a phenomenon known as bottoming out, and excessively wide pockets. This was further complicated by the fact that the original surgeon cut through the muscle tissue instead of lifting it, leading to pain and scarring. Now, three months into the recovery from her revision surgery with Dr. Cat, significant improvements are evident. Her breasts are now softer, the pockets have been adeptly repaired, and her symmetry is vastly improved. A key part of her successful surgical outcome involved the use of bilateral Strattice, which served not only to aid in pocket repair but also as a measure to ward off any potential reoccurrence of the capsular contracture.
