Which labia procedure is right for you
Labiaplasty reduces and reshapes the labia minora, and the labia majora when needed, when enlarged labia extend past the outer lips, sit unevenly, or get pinched, pulled and chafed by clothing, exercise and intimacy. Dr. Cat's technique keeps the incisions away from the clitoris and leaves a scar line that is nearly invisible once healed.
Clitoral hood reduction removes excess skin from the fold that covers the clitoris when the hood is long, wide or uneven, or looks heavy beside reduced labia. Nothing is done to the clitoris or its nerves, and it is usually part of the same surgery as a labiaplasty.
Perineoplasty rebuilds the perineum, the tissue between the vaginal opening and the anus, and narrows an opening that childbirth left gaping or scarred to a normal size, on its own or with a labiaplasty. It does not tighten the whole vaginal canal or treat prolapse or leaking urine.
Vaginal rejuvenation is non-surgical: ThermiVa radiofrequency, done in the office, stimulates collagen and improves the elasticity of the internal and external vaginal tissues, for mild laxity and dryness, with no incisions and no downtime. It does not change the shape of the labia, so it is not a substitute for labiaplasty.
Labiaplasty revision corrects a labiaplasty done elsewhere: asymmetry, too much or too little tissue removed, or painful or visible scar tissue. A revision is more intricate than a first labiaplasty because there is less tissue to work with. Our botched labiaplasty page explains what can be corrected.
How Dr. Cat approaches labia surgery
Dr. Cat is a board-certified plastic surgeon, trained in both head and neck surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery, Harvard-educated and UCLA trained, and a pioneer in labiaplasty: more than 500 labiaplasties, every one performed, every step, by Dr. Cat herself. She works in millimeters under 3.5X magnification operating lenses, and none of her incisions go near the clitoris or its dorsal nerve. Surgery is under general anesthesia with a physician anesthesiologist in her QUAD A accredited surgery center in her Beverly Hills penthouse, and you go home the same day. Patients come to her for cosmetic vaginal surgery from across the United States and abroad.
Before and after photos
The labiaplasty before and after photos show more than 80 cases of Dr. Cat's vaginal cosmetic surgery; clitoral hood reductions and perineoplasties appear among them, so look at the top of each after photo for a hood that sits flat. The labia gallery also holds the vaginal rejuvenation cases. Look for starting points similar to your own.
What the labia procedures cost in Beverly Hills
Dr. Cat's surgeon's fee for a labiaplasty is $17,500 to $20,500; the operating room and anesthesia are quoted at your consultation. Surgeon's fees are typical ranges: a more complex case can cost more, and your fee is set at your consultation and is final only in your written quote. In surgeon's fees, a clitoral hood reduction on its own is $2,000 to $6,000, or quoted within a labiaplasty plan; a perineoplasty is $15,500 to $20,500 on its own and $3,500 added to a labiaplasty; and a labiaplasty revision is $21,500 to $25,500. Vaginal rejuvenation is quoted at the consultation. See the labiaplasty cost guide, our plastic surgery cost guides and financing through Cherry, CareCredit and Alphaeon Credit.
Recovery and aftercare
Most patients need no more than Tylenol, antibiotic ointment and ice, are back at a desk within a few days to a week, and see the scar line fade to nearly invisible over three to four months; tampons, exercise and tight clothing wait four weeks, and intercourse waits six weeks, until Dr. Cat clears you. The labiaplasty recovery timeline covers it week by week. Our pre-op instructions start two months before surgery, when nicotine stops, and our out-of-town patients page covers travel, the video consultation and follow-up from home.
